Infusions
Intravenous medical infusion services
Infusion therapy allows for the delivery of medicines intravenously to help improve both speed and efficacy. At Herne Bay Medical Centre, our team can provide medical infusions for our patients who require this level of medical attention.
Intravenous (IV) Antibiotics
The most common form of infusion is probably IV or intravenous antibiotics. This is applied in situations where either a typical course of antibiotics has not resolved a particular medical condition, or where there is a high-degree of urgency required.
Iron (Ferinject) Infusions
Ferinject is indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency when:
oral iron preparations are ineffective or cannot be used
there is a clinical need to deliver iron rapidly
An initial doctor’s consultation is required for discussion, diagnosis and eligibility is based on laboratory results.
Zolendronate (Aclasta) Infusions
Aclasta is used to treat people who have been diagnosed with Osteoporosis.
Your doctor will check that you are able to have this type of medication. They will explain about the medication and what to expect, including possible side effects.
Our nurses are trained to administer most infusions or intravenous antibiotics that our patients might require.
